Olena Verbivska
Understanding Cinema: from Semiotic Structures to Free-Floating Interpretations

Olena Verbivska is a PhD student at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine, with a philosophical background in structuralism and poststructuralism.

She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, including “From functions and actions to textual possible worlds (narrative possibilities of narrative alternatives)” in The International Journal of Slavic Studies.

Olena is currently focusing on narrative theories, with a particular interest in narrative grammar. In the past, she has been involved as a columnist for the Koine.community.
